To start a direct message, tap the messages icon or go to the 'Messages' tab. Click the 'New Message' button, search for the user you want to message, select them from the results, type your message, and hit send. You can also start a DM by clicking the message icon on a user's profile or in a post's options menu.
To manage message privacy, go to Settings > Privacy > Messages. Choose who can send you messages, toggle 'Filter Unknown Senders', enable 'Read Receipts' if desired, use 'Block List' to prevent specific users from messaging you, and enable 'Message Requests' to review messages from users you don't follow before accepting.
To block or report a user in DMs, open the conversation with the user, tap their name at the top of the chat, and select 'Block User' or 'Report User'. If reporting, choose the reason and add any additional details if prompted. Confirm your action. Blocked users can't message you or see your profile. Reported users will be reviewed by our moderation team.
